A Smile and A Moan To Share
First the moan...
I lost 963 words, and from the bloody scene that I had hard time writing yesterday in the first place. It was an incredibly stupid mistake of backing up the old version, instead of the new one. So now, I have to re-write that damned thing, and as it is I wasn't feeling fantastically motivated today anyway, so today's word count will be even less. *SIGH* That will teach me to be more careful when transferring files from here to there.
Last few points of the outline have been difficult. Maybe it's because it's more muddly middle, I don't know. I am hoping that it will get better. It's really a pain when you have to force every bloody word out of your brain.
Okay, so that's the end of a moan!!
Now the smiley bit...
My entry won for moleskine art. You can see it here. And as a prize, I got to pick a fabulous moleskine sketchbook, which I received today. And if you do check out the entry, read the letters in the skirt from left to right in rows and see if you can see the phrase.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations.
And who knew your name was Dolly?
Well, anyone who reads your other blog, I suppose.
But is it really...?
Matt,
ReplyDeleteYup my own true name. I do get that question all the time :-)
My goodness Dolly. First of may I be so bold as to say I love your name. If not...let me know.
ReplyDeleteYuck on word loss! I just went through that as you may remember. I pouted and said I don't wanna I don't wanna I don't wanna, for two days, all the while listening to my imaginary friends saying, "What's the deal!?" I had to go rescue them! The internal hard drive in my brain whirled up and here it all came again.
I'm sure your boots are tall enough to wade through the mud. I can tell.
-d
Thanks Dave, that's so sweet. :)
ReplyDeleteI did rescue my words, and increased them by 349 words too so all turned out all right in the end, but today's word count did suffer because of it.
I was coming to post to commiserate as I lost almost 2000 words this weekend. But, I see yours were restored. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteOh, yuck, word loss! That sucks. Still, at least it wasn't, like, five chapters or something. I lost 5K on a project earlier this year and it was horrible.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the moleskine win, though. :)
Dang...major bummer on the word count. Congrats on making them back up and more though!
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats on the win...great picture over there! If anyone deserves a shiny new Moleskine, you do. :-)
I feel for you on your word loss. But you wrote the scene once, hopefully it won't give you as much trouble this time.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the win! The website was cool - I never knew there were so many moleskin fanatics out there. :-)
Jennifer/Jenna,
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting :) Yeah word loss was annoying, especially because time it took me to rewrite meant I wrote less for yesterday. Still...it could have been worse.

Jamie,
Thanks :-) I do love my shiny new moleskines. Can't wait to write in it - though I suppose I should finish the three I have on the go first.

C R,
I know it's amazing just how many moleskine obsessed people are out there. That's how I got into it in the first place. I just came across sites like that and thought if so many people rave about this, there must be something. So I tried. And I am hooked.
Congrats on winning the moleskin- very cool. Dolly! I never would have guessed that name for you, but it's awesome and unique!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you got some of those words back and that it worked out. Sucks though :O)
Thank you Erica. I do thank my parents all the time for my name ;) I didn't like it when I was young, but now definitely appreciate it.
ReplyDeletehaha I actually did a similar thing - I started writing off an older version of my novel and had to do some cutting and pasting - but thank gawd I could. I email myself the latest version every night before I sleep. I've been screwed too badly in the past!
