2012 Annual Reading Challenge

It's that time of the year, my friends. I invite you, once again, to join in the annual reading challenge. 2011 was super successful for me, as I not only surpassed my 80 books target, but went over 110 books. So for 2012, I'm going to aim for 100 books.

100 books - 1 year. That sounds a lot, but when I think about all the hundreds of thousands of book I want to read, it's nothing really. Yet, one must remain realistic.

What about you? How many books are you going to aim for? Don't forget to leave your links for your challenge, so I can follow your progress to. My "Books Read" list for 2012 will be available on this blog.

Happy Reading!

  2. Hmm. I'll aim for 50, I think. :)

It's a little over what I did this year, BUT I have the GRR Martins to get through... Eventually. :P

  3. I think I'll go for fifty too. That's about one a week, with breaks!

  4. Erica,

It gives me a valid excuse (not that I need validity) to make book lists!

  5. Adam,

I'll have to check out what number you reached this year. After G. R. R. M books, you will have to read some short ones to add the numbers ;)

  6. Joey,

Welcome to the challenge :-) Do you generally keep a list of books you read?

  7. I'm about 17 books behind the 85 I thought I'd read this last year...dismal, I tell ya! Between both Goodreads accounts I keep track on, I've read 68 (and it's safe to say I'll finish one more before the year's over). But since I don't intend to write any less next year, I'll probably just make a goal of 75, and see if I can bump the reading up just a smidge. ;-)

I'll have to start a list on the blog, since they're kind of spread out on the two GR accts at the moment...

  8. Jamie,

I sort of started keeping Goodsreads list, but it's just not for me. I end up wasting far too much time because it annoys me if I don't pick exactly the edition I have :P - besides I love my spreadsheet far too much, and each year it's getting better and better.

    Welcome to the challenge :-))

  9. I think my goal for this year was 80 books and I read 110. I used Goodreads to keep track of the books I read too and according to their challenge I've read a total of 110 books but only 77 of them count towards my goal of 80 for their challenge. I have no idea what's up with that, other than the fact that I noticed they didn't count books i read if I didn't put the date I finished them.

Anyway, I think my goal for this year will be 75. I need to do less reading and more writing. :-)
